When the time comes to replace the battery in my 2018 Titan 5.6 V8 , will there be any issues with just simply removing / replacing it ? I've seen some posts here about some vehicles needing a backup source to keep the computer settings intact , etc.

You'll lose the clock and radio presets, but thats about it. Thats all I lost anyway.

I've also heard that on some vehicles, even the key fob may need to be reprogrammed. No idea which vehicles though.
I'd say it would be the best practice to provide battery backup during installation.
There are some devices that plug into the OBDII port that will help with that. There are also youtube vids on the subject.

The real question is does the car's computer need to be programmed to tell it that the new battery is installed since some cars change the charging voltages based on the age of the battery.

I hear you. I think the Nissan FSM will recommend things like a throttle re-learn after a battery swap as well.

I had no issues after swapping the OEM battery in our 2015 Nissan Versa a few months ago. The factory battery lasted 8yrs.

Have this one, lets you know if both sides are live before disconnecting battery.

Many newer vehicles forget nothing in the ECU or TCU.

However, it's easy enough to hook a spare 12v battery to adequate contact points prior to bad battery removal. Even one of those UPS 12v batteries will do the job. So no need for something big.
