Quality-Built Brake Pads & Rotors

which vehicle and what would be your driving habits?

I personally have had great experience with Power Stop Z23s, great bite, and no noise or any perceivable dust.

My favorite pads from my experience with Toyota/Lexus:
  1. Power Stop Z23s
  2. Toyota factory pads, not the value pads with the "Z" in the part number
  3. Akebono ProACT
Duralast Elite are great pads, especially considering the Lifetime warranty on them, with my aggressive driving style, I prefer the Power Stop Z23s, they are extremely low fading as well.

I have personally not tried any other part store brand pads as nothing beats Autozone's warranty for pads.

I am also intrigued and want to try to Quality-Built pads but with all the effort I put into doing my brake jobs, I don't see the point in trying them because I can save $30-40 total on both front and rear pads, if I try them one day, I will update this post but if I wanted to save money, Duralast Elite pads are a great choice with their headache free lifetime warranty.

I have a 2007 Lexus ES350. I do some spirited driving, and also would like good initial bite and 0 to low brake fade.
 
I've used some of their stuff on truck apps with no problems, but I'm not sure they're anything special

Why not go with a brand people have experience with like Akebono or Wagner or Raybestos?

Remember there is more that just how well it stops. You want the manufacturing and painting to be quality so no filing of the pad ears is needed.

If bite and aggressiveness is the desired goal, Akebono ain't the pad.
Pagid, EBC, Hawk....

My EBC and my brembo rotors did much better than motorcraft rotors and I live in the most rusty of the rust belt areas.
 
This past weekend I did NAPA Adaptive One Coated Rotors with Akebono Ultra Premium Pads (ASP976) on my Tacoma. They seem nice.

The Black Series rotors are probably good, but not sure about their pads :unsure:

With rotors, the most important thing is the coating. The good coatings will last a few years, and they will slide off easily when it's time to replace them. They won't look brand new, but they will remain easy to slide off without the use of a hammer.

Since the price is good (a pair will be $30 less than Powerstop's Geomet rotors), they seem to be worth trying. Pair them with Pagid Silver ceramic pads, as they ship from the same warehouse as the rotors and only cost $1 more than the QB pads.

Outside Rock Auto, the EBC Ultimax2 (Blackstuff) pads are awesome.
 
^ I put silicone paste grease (formerly used anti-seize instead) on the hub, keeps hub rust reduced as well as allowing easy removal of uncoated rotors. I'm also in the rust belt.
 
I have been really happy with anything Powerstop makes. 4 of my vehicles run them. The Caprice is 400 hp to the wheels sand 4200lbs. They Powerstops have been the best on that. The Trans Am is 440 to wheels and those Powerstops have been awesome. No fade and lots of track use.

exactly which one, you have a link? I am from the rust belt (St. Louis, MO / Chicago area) and I still use Anti-seize on the hubs, always works flawlessly but wouldn't mind using a better product if I can.

I don't know about Motorcraft but OEM Toyota/Lexus rotors are extremely high quality, I can easily resurface them 3-4 times , and they are the best ones I have tried in the rust belt, granted resurfacing rotors cost me $10 per rotor.

I have always been tempted to try Brembo rotors, heard nothing but good things.
