Last I was told, Pennzoil uses Group II+ base stocks, Quaker State and Formula Shell use Group II.

Does Valvoline also use Group II+ base stocks? If I had to run a straight Group II I'd probably use Formula Shell and then Quaker State.

...and is Mobil 1 still mostly(product depending) a true Group IV PAO?

I have been using qs gb in the xl 7 and it seems to do very well.

After my post to you this evening, I took a drive to the local Kmart with both printouts of the specials. The printout showing the $1.75 a quart for QS Green Bottle and the other print out for ordering on line. When I tried to print out the copy for ordering on line, the red warning...."that the item is not available on line" does not print out.

Anyway, I picked up 12 quarts of QS Green Bottle, put them in the cart, and proceed to the checkout. When I went to check out...I presented the two printouts on QS to the cashier, since the price registered at $2.40 per quart. She then called the manager over and showed her the copies I had given to her about the price advertised at $1.75.

Well, the manager would not let me have the advertised price since it was an on-line special. I mentioned to her that the Kmart web site stated that the item was not available for purchase on-line. She asked me to show her where it said that on my print out. I told her that the "Red letter" warning that the oil was not available on line did not print out on my copy and if she had access to a computer she could check for herself.

The long and the short of it is.....look out for these advertised specials.....they might be a lure just to get you into the store. They must figure that some people are dumb enough to pony up the money for the oil and other items and not say a word.

Ahhhhhh but this time I fixed them good! I had a shopping cart filled to the brim with all kinds of junk and just left the whole kit and caboodle there at the register for the manager to deal with putting the junk back in the proper isle. Some of it was heavy....some was perishable so they had to get on the items fast. They like to waste my time with bogus specials....I will make sure to give them one of my special deals. I put on my hat and walked out of the store grinning from ear to ear. That will teach them a lesson.

Looks like I had the last laugh tonight at Kmart.

Yes you did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that they probably need business and figure if you come in to get something on "special" you won't say anything if it doesn't ring up at that price. Now we all know why Walmart is knocking them out of business one by one.

My wife plans on calling the General Manager and corporate headquarters if necessary.

Guess that all Kmart managers are nasty, not just in Ohio.

i stopped shopping at sears 4 years ago and i stopped k mart when they got it...
I buy most of my oil at wal mart because it is cheap and usually not been sitting

We shop at Kmart when we feel like not dealing with the crowd at walmart, and we don't mind paying more for less.

Their motor oil has a thick coat of dust on it, they are very overpriced. I bet that oil on sale is several years old!

really? because when kmart went bankrupt and got down to $1 a share in 04 the news said sears bought them and they got back up to $50 a share the next month.

Same thing happened to me. They would not honor the 1.75 price even with the printout. Called Walmart 6 mi. away. they said they would price match K-Marts on-line price. Walmarts oil is probably SN, too!Good-Bye K-Mart and thanks a bunch!

He/She got a nice easy detail of pushing around the cart putting back overstock. They might get a couple more hours of work time.... even if it was minimum wage. Only loser is Kmart.

No, the only "losers" are they ones who had to put it away. I hate when people think that "ooo...I got that place good" when it is the EMPLOYEES that suffer, not the chain itself. The chains could care less what you think. I see more often than I should....even seen a customer got to all the trouble to find out where the managers car was (@ Wal mart) so he could slash the tires. And a few other customers even thought it was funny...

So excuse me if I am not humored.

Sadly, no they do not. When that last "10 buck" coupon thing came out last year, the stores never saw it coming...

Those cars really seem to like QS...not sure why, but they do.
