Haven't seen a good discussion between these two brands. I knowQuaker State Ultimate Durability has a loyal following but Valvoline has a good product as well. It would be hard to tell the difference there is a used oil analysis posted and if the numbers are correct it seems to be a fine oil to do extended oil change intervals with.
SynPower gets my vote. Tried and true performer. Honestly, i have not heard a great deal about Quaker State Ultimate Durability. It pops up every now and then, looks good I guess. It's cheaper than PP. I don't know much about it beyond that. I guess this post is turning into a essay on Argument from Ignorance. Sigh.
I like Valvoline conventional but have not used SP.

I use Quaker State Ultimate Durability in my Hyundai, but like others have noted, it's almost too close to call. . .neither one will blow your engine up! Quaker State Ultimate Durability is one of the best bargains out there in my opinion.
SynPower has very low volatility.
I'm a big Valvoline supporter. I run Valvoline products besides just engine oil in my vehicles.

Flip a coin or go with what is cheaper, I think your question is answered. They are both good. Quaker State Ultimate Durability is my personal preference, just like the others who say use Synpower. Go with the cheaper one. If Synpower was on sale cheaper than Quaker State Ultimate Durability I'd use that. No brand loyalty for me. They All are good quality ie. the majors.
Yes unlike Toyota, Honda and other sources of oil, Synpower has its own strange add pack. So does Peak synthetic for that matter. So if you are not into moly, or boron and just need a smidge of calciun and zinc Synpower would be a choice you might consider. There are 2-3 good uoa re. Synpower that might help you decide, :!depends on your need for a more robust oil. And keep in mind many know of someone who has great success with the oil.

If you check dino Mobil5000 I think you will see it has a addpack some what better.

I think the word is different, not weak! were not all brainwashed into Pennzoil Platinum / Quaker State Ultimate Durability, aka whats cheap! And I love how 5sfegl makes a claim and in no way backs it up, yet he still appears to be online

Based on a vague question like this i would pick the oil that cost less and has a better additive package.
Am i wrong for saying Synpower has a lighter add-pack than other OTC synthetic oils out there..no i don't think so. So i stand by what i voted for.

Yes, you are wrong for saying that Synpower or any oil has a weak add-pack. You don't know what is in the add-pack. The used oil analysis and VOA's that we look at on this and other sites do not show everything that is or can be in an add-pack. This has been discussed many times on this forum but, some people continue to make unfounded statements concerning the strength, or lack of, of different add-packs.
