The search function on this site is not very good anymore(wish it would go back to the way it was)so what is the opinion on Quaker state q torque power? How does it compare to the Napa synthetic because I have a local store selling it for $3/qt.

Use Yahoo or Google to search, enter your search term and then add site:bobistheoilguy.com to have yahoo or google limit the results to those from this site.

Ex: Quaker state q torque site:bobistheoilguy.com

i agree i sure do miss the old search bar...and the qs torque power is pretty good stuff from my experience...i loaded up on it when walmart had it on clearance. i got it for $1.50 a quart and have used it in the f150 with fine results. i don't think the truck knew the difference

I have bought the napa synthetic before with the $3.48/ qt sale.I was curious how the $3/qt price of the qtorque power would compare. What is the better bargain?I have already purchased a few bottles and to be honest I have enough oil to last all 4 vehicles years.

whatever is cheapest really, because either way they are both quality synthetics. if i were you, i would just go with the QS

Torquepower is a great oil and I've used it in a bunch of vehicles. I was able to grab quite a few jugs when it was on closeout, some of which were $5 a 5qt jug.

3 bucks a quart at AZ. 16 quarts left. 10-30 flavor. Im currently running the QSUD 5w30 in my 08 Chevy. What do you think about running this Torque-power 10-30 in the summer months, and the QSUD 5-30 in the winter? I have about 4 jugs of the 5-30 already. Thinking about adding this stuff to my stash. By the way, what's the difference between the Torque-power 4x4 synthetic, and the QSUD?
Thanks

If you're going for a group 3 Hydro cracked "sythetic" oil in name only, than yeah the Quaker state will do fine.

Other than some of the boutique oils, what oils aren't? Most of the group IVs are 0wXXs.

Guess I'll repeat, and see if I can get an answer.

The price isn't bad. I'd snag it. I'm not sure what the actual difference is between the Q version oils. Apparently no one did because it didn't seem to sell well.

It's been in the store for quite a while. Near the back, on a shelf, with dust on the bottles. I think I'll try to go in and talk em down a bit more, and tell em Id buy em all, for say, $2/quart. Never know. Maybe they'll take it!

You can get a better deal after MIR on QSUD, PP, PU or Synpower.
If you don't care to mess with the fake vehicle registration process and the MIRs, QTP @ $3.00/qt is pretty good.
I've got a few jugs of 10W-30 QTP bought at $9.00 each when Wally was closing them out.
Good stuff, and I'd not worry about using 10W-30 nine months out of the year here.
Twelve months would probably be okay.

I mean that, like Torrid said, most "synthetic" oil on the shelves are really just hydrocracked group III oils..in other words not really synthetic but are allowed to be called as such. Not that there is anything wrong with it, Penzoil Platinum us a fine oil that is Grp 3. I'm just saying that if that is what you are looking for, and the price is right - go with it.

Yes. That was the point I was making.

Yes that is a good plan in Arizona. QTorquePower has alot more Boron type friction (~250 ppm vs 80 ppm QSUD) modifiers that QHorsepower does not. QSUD is GM4718 certified. QTorqepower is not GM4718 certified, but probably could if QS had decided to. These are the few differences I am aware of; otherwise, they are both excellent and a great deal at that price.
