This is 90% wide open highway miles. Run in the winter of 12/13 till May 2013. Bonus, the previous Mobil Super 5w30 SN is included. TBN on both. Blackstone Labs.

I've had some oil leaking from the driver side head gasket. Fearing the typical EJ25 head gasket leakage problem, I was worried about an internal leak getting coolant in the oil. Not here, or not yet anyway.

Comments please. Thanks.

i'm assuming this is the i-AVLS engine right? I don't think they have head gasket issues, not that much anyway so long as you use the factory coolant and coolant treatment.

The mobil fluid seemed to have been sheared to pieces but that doesn't seem to have caused any wear. Both oils did fantastic, or rather your suby did a fantastic job.

I forgot to note: 2007 Forester. Looks like the EJ253 with i-Active valves. I know Subaru's multi layered steel HGs are supposed to end the problem, but there are still problems galore on the Subie boards. My external oil leak started around 80k and is serious enough to coat the steering rack, oil pan, et al.

I don't use Subaru's coolant nor the conditioner. The conditioner is radweld and masks the problem. I'd rather see it. I use Peak Global Lifetime coolant.

Great uoa, but that's probably not news to anyone.

I wonder if the QSUD sheared a bit and thickened back up? Data sheet shows 100C viscosity as 10.53 cSt.

I wouldn't say there are still HG problems galore for your Model Year though. A poll at subaruforester.org (unscientific, of course) has 9 problems reported for the 2007 as opposed to 63 for the 2003.
