Quad Low Beam Headlights?

The 2017 Ford Super Duty pickup trucks have 4 halogen low beam headlamps (and 4 high beams). Ford calls it Quad Dual Beam.

I can't think of any other vehicles (cars, SUVs, or pickups) in earlier years that came from the factory with 4 low beam headlamps.

Have there been any?

Normally I don't care what vehicles look like. But even I'm somewhat disgusted with the hideous design of pickups in the last few years.

Perhaps Ford read the IIHS article about how poor pickup truck headlights have become, and they need to add additional headlights just to bring them up to acceptable levels. The Ford F series was among the poorest performers in the entire substandard group.

Yes, it was a Barris car. Quick Google search indicated there were diecast models in 1/64th (S-scale) and 1/43rd. No kits, though.

Yes, the Wagon Queen Family Truckster was a Barris car---but it couldn't have been one of his proudest efforts. My teenage sons and I (well, mostly I) briefly contemplated making an offer on a very low-mile, nice example of a Mercury Grand Marquis LS Brougham (in pale yellow with the simulated woodgrain siding applique) that was for sale on car lot in the vacation town our family frequents. We kept waiting for Christy Brinkley to pull up in a 308 Ferrari, but that didn't happen, so we moved on . . .

It's either genuine or a very good fake. Though I don't think I see the front fender fuel tank filler door on this one.

That website also claims that Barris did not modify the '79 LTD wagon for the project, but that Warner Brothers Studios did. I don't know either way.

a lot of LED low beams are a quad setup, see BMW for example. But that's because the LED output is less than Halogen output.

My favorite factory set up was the Peugeot 504 factory setup with the 5.75 inch SPOT for one high beam.

And, there would still be inconsiderate morons driving around with their high beams on all the time.

My car has regular dipped beams, but quad highs, come to think of it... the dipped beams switch to dipped + high (shutter removes) and an extra halogen turns on.
