I was going to pick up some QSUD today and was wondering on a clean engine and a good filter can I run this to 10,000 miles or should I look for another synthetic oil?

Personally I wouldn't run it to 10k. Not saying you can't or shouldn't, but if I was going long distance I'd stick with Pennzoil or Mobil 1 synthetic. It's not that much more expensive than the QS.

80% highway should allow a 10K OCI on QSUD or a lot of other oils.
You didn't mention your engine, but I'm going to assume that you've got a fairly undemanding Korean/Japanese/US car.
10K might be pushing too far with some engines, like those with turbos or DI.

What makes either of those brands any better than QSUD in this application? You've semi-baited us with a blanket statement.

Not to mention the fact that VOAs have shown QSUD and PP to be so similar that there is speculation that they are the same oil in different bottles.

Last time I checked everyone was crazy about PP and said QSUD was a lesser version of that. Of course that was months ago. Now you guys are saying it's the same? Make up your minds already! Anyways I ran it for 6k and it was almost done for. So, I guess I'm speaking from experience.

New information to me. Must have been a recent thing.

Did you do a UOA of this 6K run of QSUD?
What I'm getting at is that there's no other way of knowing whether the oil was almost done for or not.

Yeah it was almost shot. TBN of like 1.4 or something. I don't have the report on me anymore though. It was for a Rav4 we don't own anymore, 80k miles
