Got some Pennzoil Conventional and a Napa Proselect all ready for my silverado. After trying to solve the ticking problem, I wanted to use Pennzoil conventional because everyone loves it so much. What can I expect as far as "CLEANS OUT UP TO 40% OF ENGINE SLUDGE IN THE 1ST OIL CHANGE" ? Planning to keep it in for 3K miles. It seems like Pennzoil Conventional does very well particularly in chevrolets. Thanks!

Cant go wrong with it. Pennzoil Conventional,PP and PU are great products.SOPUS has done a very good job of improving its products, all the while keeping them under M1 pricing. Its no wonder Pennzoil Conventional is the best selling oil there is.

You can expect decent engine cleaning (if there is anything to clean). If there is then the motor oil will look pretty dark after about 1k miles. What did you use previous?

Totally agree. I've had great results with M1 but would be comfortable substituting PU easily...I don't because my Walmart doesn't sell it and AA / AZ PU are much more expensive than M1 at Wally.

BTW: My Wally now has Mobil 1 0w40 and 0-40 EP

What can you expect? It's oil... The engine won't spontaneously seize once started and the oil will lube the engine in the same fashion as many other oils before it.

All lines of Mobil products are cheaper in my Walmart.

expect nothing, dino is dino, oil is oil. Pay more, get more quality. Period.

Personally, Pennzoil Conventional is not that great to me, valvoline or castrol does a better gob, and really, you car dont give a [censored] really...

I disagree..... Pennzoil Conventional is the top dino IMO...

Expect the worse, find out it does fine.
PYB been around and they improved it over the years.
Its a major brand, you'll sleep fine.

Good oil i like it when the price is right.... there are a lot of great conventional oils out there ... After you use it look into the container and see if you can see any black soot some of us can see it on some jugs. I have heard that is caused by some of the additives dropping out but thats like saying the ticking inside my engine is all the power trying to get out..
