Just put some Pennzoil Conventional in my tiching 4.3 Its silent! Gonna run a 5000 Mile Oci and do a used oil analysis. I guess Pennzoil Conventional does quiet down noisy engines.

Its always been my understanding that a tick is the tilt of a collapsed lifter. Varnish could cause a lifter to stick in this position, and pub might cause it to be freed again.

^^Your autocorrect is out of control, but I get what you mean.

PYB was one of the oils I've used to quiet down my 2.0 Lt engine. Too bad I'm not doing 5k OCI's anymore as I go 10k now with synthetic.

The only thing that's higher than normal is the moly. And that's because they're using the "cheap" moly. I agree its mostly due to the fresh oil and the tick will come back.
