So true. MAC and Snap On used to make specialty impact sockets for tight areas such as head bolts etc. I’ve broken several thin walled chrome 1/2 drive sockets with an impact wrench. Fortunately they were replaced with the lifetime warranty. Otherwise I have standard and metric 3/8 and 1/2 drive impact socket sets. I have a few 3/4 drive sockets for setting preload on ring and pinions (crush sleeves) and a long 3/4 pull bar with extensions. You can never have enough different types of sockets when doing a job. The moment you are blocked removing a fastener you are losing time and possibility money.
1/2 chrome are thinner walled vs impact, someone mentioned head bolts. I have run across several times when thin walled and or 12 point mattered in these situations.
