Purolator tech

48 pleats. Media looks thicker in these pictures, than it really is.
Made in USA.
$2.40 on Amazon. Showed up in two days.
Louvered center core, metal.
Metal crimped seam. Wide pleat gap on one side of the crimp, typical for Purolator.
Can had good thickness to it.

Good for 3k I reckon. I doubt the pleats would tear. Or do you think just sticking with a ph7317 or tg7317 would be better?
 
BTW - Per BR's dP vs flow testing there is less than 1 PSI difference in dP (8.3 vs 9.1 PSI) between those two filters at 10 GPM of flow with the simulated "hot" oil viscosity of 15 cSt. Certainly not a "much larger pressure drop". A dP difference of less than 1 PSI at 10 GPM isn't going to make any difference at all. Between those two, I'd use the higher efficiency one, which is most likely the Amsoil.
There is almost a 10 PSI difference between the M1 and Amsoil filter in that test at 10 GPM, certainly not negligible.

It's still not really going to matter, because there will still be more than adequate oil flow volume to lubricate the engine. Besides, those are not the two filters I was refereing to.
 
I went from running Fram Endurance to Purolator TL 20195's on my oil burning 2007 2.4L Camry and have not noticed any difference whatsoever. Since I do 3k OCI's nowadays with her becoming an experiment in reducing oil consumption, I see no need to pay more than $2.45 for a filter that I am running once. I'm pretty sure that you could shove a toilet paper roll in a can and have it last 3,000 miles.
