Yeah, all the Pennzoil 38 and 37’s look like this. Even the AutoExtra 57356 look like this too.

The 4612 fits Hyundai/Kia vehicles? I don't think it does (even if it threads on.) That's probably why it was leaking?

Never mind. Puralator says 14459 for Hyundai/Kia, but if you click on professional, it does list the 4612. Weird....

The shorty 14612 will fit Hyun/Kia, but it's not the spec size filter. The 9688 is. Equivalent to 14459.

Since the Tech is a jobber level filter, likely a consolidated/downsized listing, like quick lubes do. In this case, two sizes down, skipping the common 7317 size. Still "if" properly installed, 14612 shouldn't leak from sealing gasket at least. So no idea of leak cause.

It's unfortunate M&H moved production to China. Seen several of the US made Tech filters cut open, and they have looked fine, especially for $2.40 Amazon. To use cliche, it is what it is.

Well, the filter on car as of yesterday did fine for 3k. Put HPL NO VII 5w20 in and Fram 9688 ENDURANCE ON.
