Purolator Premium Plus or SuperTech?

Would you rather use a regular Purolator Premium Plus or a SuperTech oil filter? Why would choose the one you do? Which one has better filtration efficiency and flow? Thanks everyone.

Some models of the purolator premium plus supposedly use cardboard endcaps.........a feature that I don't find appealing. If your model uses metal endcaps.....my vote would go for the purolator. But honestly.......I don't think that there is that much difference between them to worry about.

There just isn't much difference between them. I have been using ST on my truck. They are cheaper and I find buying them at Wal-Mart more convenient than going across the street to Advance auto. I switched to ST before I found this board. It was a tough decision to go with a cheap filter from Walmart. When I cut open the first one, it looked about the same as most of the others, much better than Fram and not as good as the AC's nobody stocks. I am still a big fan of OEM filters if somebody has your number at a reasonable price.

I don't have a big sample size, but the Purolator in PF-52 equivalent seems to have a better ADBV based on the time oil pressure takes to come up in my truck. Basically, if Meijer's has the Purolator on sale for $1 off (about 25% of the time) I buy it, if not, I buy the SuperTech or AC filter.

Never seen a cardboard purolator myself. I use both, but if they were equally available I'd go with the Purolator. More filter area and better craftsmenship.

If your local Advance has the TotalGrip filters,you migh want to consider using one of them.They are made by Purolator.I have cut open the PF-47 equivelent and it had a good amount of filter material with metel endcaps and looked like it was of very good construction.They are about 50 cents cheaper than the Purolator and they have the textured can to help with grip.They are not made by FRAM or Honeywell,FRAMs parent company.
