Just a FYI for the Mazda B2200 / B2600i (Real Mazda) pickup owners out there.

I just cut open a Purolator Premium Plus L14610 oil filter to check the endcaps. They are metal and the construction matches that listed on filter study web sites out there.

Pep Boys has a sale coupon for $1.99 each then mailin rebate to make the net cost 99 cents each for 2 filters. Here in Metro Atlanta the coupon is good to 1/14/2006

The 14610 looks small on the outside, but it has alot of paper media on the inside.

If you want bigger, see if the part your filter screws onto can be screwed out. If so you can attach a part that will allow you to use 3/4 by 16 filter.

I use the 14610 on my motorcycle. It seems pretty big in that application.

This size is generally known as an oversized filter for a very large number of motorcycles.

Yeah it's a little thing. I'd run a larger filter if I could find one with the exact gasket size and bpv pressure. On the other hand, I've put 242k miles and still going strong on my B2600i with the OEM and other vendor filters that size so they must be doing a good job.

The little filter that could.

audi_guy,
The Purlator PP #14459 is a slightly larger replacement for the #14610. If you can still find #24458,(much larger), this will also have the same gasket and thread as what you are using. Although the #24458 has been discontinued, I still often see them at Sears Auto Dept.
