This Purolator garbage or filter #L-10241 was off of a 09' Focus a friend of mine has. Has over 100,000~ odd miles on it. He put this filter and some QSED 5w20 in and it had roughly 3,300.7 thousand miles according to the trip meter. Sad to see this but oh well. Enjoy pics and as always any questions just ask. I refilled with some 1993 Havoline 5w30 and a FRAM TG-3614 filter. Havoline was free as it was in grandfathers garage and still have 2 cases to use up. Filter made in Fayetteville NC and on November 18, 2014 on Line "D" and 1st shift

This Can't happen on any of the engines we build because as professionals we stay FAR away from filters that tear, our reputation depends on it.
We changed our filter line after many years to WIX and so have many other quality shops according to my filter guys.

People in the know stay away from junky filters....>Period!

Well, there's your problem.

3,300.7 x 1000 = 3,300,700 miles.

It's dumb to run a filter for three-million miles. No wonder it tore.

3,300.7 so that is 3 thousand 300 miles roughly. Give me a break guys. Purolators shouldn't tear with like 3,000 miles on them. Total garbage in my uneducated mechanics eyes

Yeah, don't think I'll touch the "new" ones. Shame that Tegger thought someone ran a tearolator for 3 million miles. Guess some people cannot READ

+1000 that's the problem, it couldn't have been alwaysheldtogetherolator's fault

or TYPE? your the one who made the mistake...you wrote the number and the letters to explain it, that's redundant, and it can be interpreted the way Tegger did.

After 3-million miles? That's pretty efficient! I'm impressed.

Wow! I said 3,300.7 miles. How can YOU not read correctly. He uses the "trip meter" on his car for crying out loud. Why don't you and Tegger both grow up. Thanks for wasting MY time with this [censored]

For the record once and for all it had 3,300.7 miles on the FILTER and oil. If someone says that's 3 million miles; they need to go back to school
