Guess Advance Auto and Car Quest are discontinuing sale of the Purolator Boss model for the GM 4.3 Vortec. Ran around town and bought up the last 6 in my city for $9.75 (original list price was $23.99. The Boss filters from Car Quest came in a different box. Anyone know why?

The hexagon shaped box is probably an older filter.
Hexagon were the initial box when they came out, approximately 2016. They since went to a square box.
Square box says copyright 2018 and Hex box shows copyright 2015.
What's the date code on the filter's dome end?
