Hey yall..
It's being used on (get this) a 92 Hyundai Elantra, 240,000 miles, 1.6 DOHC. The PL14459 is the suggested filter, and the one I have on it as of my latest change last week (I am a reformed Frammer). I'm also a reformed 3000 mile changer of the 10W-40 or 0W-40 Mobil 1 I've been using for 8 years now. But the 14459 is tiny, it makes me nervous leaving the thing on there all that time/miles.
As for compatibility, I went on a pureoil site, and started putting in different years and makes of Mitsubishi motors engines (mine is, at heart, a Mitsu), and even for Diamontes, Monteros, and a lot of the Toyota Tundras, even with V-8 engines use the PL14459. As usual, my worrying is for nothing, but this 7500 mile OCI is a new concept. I can't believe auto makers go for this, in warranty, anyway.
More assumptions challenged. At 3000 miles, I'll send a sample in for analysis and see what's what with all this.
Thanks for the help!
