I have a 2007 Nissan Titan I used the factory filters until I cut one open.

The fact that it had paper end caps and was made in china really turned me off so I have been using Royal Purple oil filter for a while. My only problem is I can only find them at pep boys. I have been thinking about going to the Pure 1 or Bosch distance plus as I can find them easier.

Which one overall is the better filter?

Pure1 will filter ever so slightly better.

Royal Purple will filter longer with an ever slightly better flow rate.

If your OCI is less than 6K I would go with Pure1.

Longer than 8K then Royal Purple(Mobil 1/K&N same filter different package).

Between six and eight is a toss up.

As I understand the Pure 1 has pretty thorough filtration. Only concern would be the time it takes to load, but unless you are going Amsoil OCIs you should be fine. I actually ordered a truck load on Amazon a couple weeks ago, about a 1.25$US less than I could get them for at the local auto parts stores and free shipping to boot.

Pick a filter you like, then go out and purchase a half or full dozen of them at once so you do not have to waste time in the future. I generally keep 6 cases of oil and 12 filters on my shelf{along with quantities of ATF & gear oil} so I always have what I need at any time{ stock up when products are on sale if possible}

thanks everyone fore the info i think i will stick with the royal purple filter i changed the oil in my titan at 3000 miles i was using castrol edge and a royol purple filter i have never seen an oil look like that it looked like i had just put it in win i changed it next time i will go longer and have it analized

No need to spend so much for Royal Purple oil filters for such short intervals. Unless you are exceeding 8-10k miles or so on your oil change interval, then a Pure One will do everything the RP filter is doing....

True a RP is 99% @ 25 mic a P1 is 99% @ 20 mic so you can see there's not really that much of a difference the RP could do 10,000+ easily 2 oil changes.

my recommendation is keep with the RP if flow is a concern and use them 2-3 oil changes,there a well built filter.

nothing wrong with a P1 at all but the added flow from the syn media gets my added vote.
