Pure One vs Napa Gold

IMHO i think Wix is a better filter based on flow rate...a very important measure of filter effectiveness that purolator conveniently fails mentioning.

i saw a post on a jeep forum for flow rates of different brands and pureone had the lowest. its only logical that a finer filter would be more retrictive to oil flow...

BTW purolator tries to overcome this problem by packing more media into the filter. but as i mentioned, flow rates still stink. would definitely not use it with those of us who like 'spirited' driving.

Ugly, Gary please point me to that report....u have so many posts Gary i can't seem to find what i'm looking 4! or if u would just give me an opinion on u'r preferences between mobil 1, wix/napa and pureone. myabe pureone flow rates arent as bad as i've read. thanx

I may be mistaken(and if I am, I'm sure someone will point it out soon), but I think that even the filters with the lowest rated flow will still flow fatser thatn your pump will pump. Or something.

hey its after midnight! typos r allowed!

so is that why everyone's raving about pureone over here? is it a better filter than wix/napa gold?

I would consider buying from any company in the US that would use USPS instead of UPS. UPS uses exhorbidant "brokerage" fees as a profit center. It often far exceeds the shipping costs and often the item purchased itself. It is a total rip off for canadians receiving a package via UPS.

Keep us posted. Nothing in Canada can compete with Fleetfilter if fleet filter can overcome the issue of not being capable of shipping by methods other than UPS. The time is right, especially with exchange rates as they are.

Add my vote to what Jim5 wrote. I'd buy a case of filters from Fleet in a heartbeat if they came in the mail. But via UPS - not a chance.

Canadians are allowed $50 tax and duty free on any day-trip to the US. So UPS shouldn't even be charging a brokerage fee on a $40 box of filters. But they do anyway. I continue to buy NAPA Golds locally at about 7 bucks a piece (w/tax) because the great Fleet price is killed by the brokerage/shipping fee.

We have not given up on the idea of USPS or other shipping options. We are considering our options and Hoping to do USPS as well.
Thanks

Do it ! Lots of other businesses offer 2 or more shipping methods. You guys can too .
