The threaded-end drainback valve is the reason I pick up a Motorcraft vs the Pure One. My minivan hardly sqwaks anymore on startup since I switched to it.

Both filters are silicone in most applications. Another reason I like the Motorcraft is the wider spread media (guess). Every time I tip over a used Pure One to drain the used oil from it, there's always twice the amount of oil in it. I'm assuming (just guessing) that the media in the Pure One is closer to the filter wall (or) there's less media & it just flows better/holds more oil.

I'm not sure about any of this.... it just bothers me to see that much-more oil coming out of it vs Motorcrafts, Frams, AC Delcos, Super Techs that I've used. Somehow, I feel cheated out of filter media.

Maybe someone here can put me back on the right track & tell me the amount of media in both is relatively the same. If it is, then why does the Pure One hold so much oil?

What is the difference between The Motorcraft filters and the Purolator Pure 1? Is there really much of a difference? The motorcraft is better than the cheaper Purolator filter, right? And is htere a difference in the Motorcraft filters you get from a dealer than the ones you can buy at walmart?
