Why then does the government improperly charge us ?The government protects its citizens from being improperly charged. The style of pump for fuels is closely monitored, the weights and measures agency tests the output and decides the frequency of accuracy inspection based on the history of how the pumping system performs based on their history with that pumping system. If there was a problem the odds are that the pump would be shut down before you tried to pump. And what if the pump was giving you free fuel? would you complain? nope, but the station owner would be livid.
Have yet to have any of those things happen here in Prescott Valley. Ask your brother. Must be a Cali thing?Who wants to stay at the gas station any longer than needed? Between the homeless bums asking for a handout, others willing to smear your windows for a couple of dollars, loud boom boom radios, people yelling and whatever else I'm in and out as fast as possible.
None of that activity here either..Have yet to have any of those things happen here in Prescott Valley. Ask your brother. Must be a Cali thing?
Ours are, also. Once every 3 years! The local pumps here are regulated and state inspected for accurate dispensing. I'm not worried if the county/state seal is punched out with the correct date.
My preferred (and closest) Shell station is associated with Rudy's Country Store & Bar-B-Que. Not only are they high volume, they are located very close to our city's police station. We don't have panhandling in my city, unlike the organized panhandling in Austin.None of that activity here either..
Some places don't put up with that crap.
I have had people asking for money at various places in the South. There usually pretty respectful actually - probably figured out the other way will get you something else you don't want.Have yet to have any of those things happen here in Prescott Valley. Ask your brother. Must be a Cali thing?
Who would want these people at their place of business? I won't patronize those placesUnless traveling, nearly all of my fuel purchases are at my local Costco. Never saw a bum or panhandler at a Costco gas station
I would have to assume they come and go, or the low wage cashier isn't going to start a fight over it. I presume the owner would run them off if around?Who would want these people at their place of business? I won't patronize those places
Most police don't want to deal with it. Here if you pull out the I'll work for food sign they grab you right away...I would have to assume they come and go, or the low wage cashier isn't going to start a fight over it. I presume the owner would run them off if around?
In this specific example, most all Governments ensures that when you buy any item that is sold by weight or volume, that the vendor has to have their equipment calibrated on a regular basis to prevent under or over measures. Why then does the government improperly charge us ?![]()
Certainly......In this specific example, most all Governments ensures that when you buy any item that is sold by weight or volume, that the vendor has to have their equipment calibrated on a regular basis to prevent under or over measures.
However, you already knew that. Your next question is questioning that all Government actions will be beneficial and of fair value for the end consumer. This can't devolve into a political thread, but I ask you:
Can you find your pair of rose coloured glasses?
If there ever were, one of the many attendants who work there would shoo them away. That’s the nice thing about Costco is that they have 3 or 4 employees there to direct traffic and can also keep an eye out to make sure that no scammers try to sneak a card skimmer onto one of the pumps.Unless traveling, nearly all of my fuel purchases are at my local Costco. Never saw a bum or panhandler at a Costco gas station
Do you know my brother?Have yet to have any of those things happen here in Prescott Valley. Ask your brother. Must be a Cali thing?
