I saw this pump at Harbor Freight... Pump. I wouldn't use it for oil but thought I could use it for tranny on 95 Taurus and 02 Caravan. Think it would work? Says it does but I am concerned with the diameter of the tubing. 54-1/4" LONG HOSE - 1/4" DIAMETER will that fit the diameter of my rigs?

I've siphoned engine oil using a long length of 1/4 in, ID plastic tubing. Yes, it should work very well. Warm/hot oil works extremly better using this type of pumping scenario. Ed

You can probably get aquarium tubing at walmart in the pet section that's that same diameter for a dollar or two to play around with. I was going to siphon (not by mouth

) the ATF dry on my cutlass ciera some time ago. The bottleneck seems to be the tight curve at the bottom of the dipstick tube where it interfaces with the trans pan, or wherever. There seems to be some elbow plus pinch that is hard to jam the flexy tubing past.

I had that pump and MityVac 7201. MityVac 7201 is much much better, I used MityVac to do oil change too. Don't buy that pump, it is cheap for a reason: it does not work.

No, I did not buy the MityVac 7201 there. I bought it from an online store for less than Harbor Freight, I don't remember where I bought it from 4+ years ago. I will look for receipt, it is somewhere in my garage.

I could not find the receipt. If I remember correctly, I paid around $60 shipping included, 4+ years ago. The current lowest price for 7201 is at Amazon.com for $65.49 and no charge for ground shipping.

Believe it or not the $13.99 keyless chuck VSR drill I bought from HF has been great.
