I cannot siphon oil from my dipstick, there is some type of baffle down below that will not allow the tube to go in, I tried very small tubing too. I know I could clean out a oil pan, drain and capture and then put oil back into the car(Dnewton Suggestion). Do they make a special type drain plug that would allow you to siphon oil. I'm looking at extending oil drains out as far and as safely as possible using synthetics. I like to tap randomly once I get past what I fear could be slightly unsafe, I don't want to push oil at the expense of my engine. I'm really trying to conserve and try to utilize my lube as best as possible, since I put on 8,000 miles in 3 months time.

If you seal the area between your extraction tubing and the dipstick tube (maybe with a rubber adaptor or something else flexible with a small hole for the tubing), then you don't even need to reach to the bottom of the oil pan. The oil will get sucked up due to the built up vacuum.
I use this one on our C300, but some more basic rubber oring/connector (like the ones that come with a MityVac) will probably do the same job.

Install a fumoto drain valve. Turn the lever, collect how much you need, close and done. I've had the one on my Tacoma for 7 years and I installed one on the CRV today. I haven't yet done any used oil analysis but now I may start.
Thanks guys, I look into both scenerios. I think the fumoto drain valve is something I'm going to google right now.
Why not jus unscrew the oil filter and use what's inside for the sample?

It depends on the dipstick tube, if the end of the dipstick tube is at or near the bottom of the oil pan then it will work, your C300 is probably has it at the bottom of the oil pan.
If the end of the dipstick tube is 4-5" above the bottom of the oil pan then you may not be able to suck much oil using this adaptor, if you can't insert the suction hose down to bottom of the pan.

If your oil pressure sensor is accessible or any other oil pressure port, get a push-button KP valve from www.checkfluid.com and run a brass t-fitting off it. It costs a little extra but that is my favorite way to take a sample.
