Lots of tire threads on this sub, so here's one for rims. I've had the GLI for a year and from the start disliked the OE wheels. Whenever I modify I like to keep the factory look...and in this case wanted to stick with VW/Audi replacements. These are factory installed on the MK8 Golf R. Old OE rim in the pic for comparison for what came off.

+1 on the new shades of grey.
The wheels are sharp looking. Stock is almost always the way to go.
I am not a wheel guy as the costs (wheel/skimpy sidewalls/rarity) are too high for me. (please note the 'for me')

Looks very nice. Now you need a slight drop. ~ 1-1.5" would be perfect IMHO.

Where did you source the wheels? Local dealer has quite a few take-offs from customer deliveries that don't want the OE wheel. They usually give a good discount for them and most still have factory supplied tires as customer decides to go with different sized wheel. Lots of 19" from Rs for some reason.

I'd epoxy it.
Maybe eventually...epoxy tends to struggle holding up long-term here due to the climate. We will see.

No plans to lower it with the occasional need to plow through a few inches of snow. They were shipped from the UK...they are actually 18"s as I didn't want to go larger than what came with it. US-spec Rs are 19 so I had to search abroad.
