My rope is getting frayed and I was going to go ahead and replace it, but it looks to be riveted in place + it has a safety weight on the rope that will save it from going internal if the rope breaks.
I'll get more information on it if needed.
For now I'll put a better looking spark plug in there so maybe it'll start faster. Funny note, it was cranking on 1-2 pulls but the maintenance manual says change plug every season, now it starts on about 5 pulls.
I'm also going to remove the pull cord from the slot near the upper bar that guides it. It is the reason for the frayed cord. I just pryed it open so the handle/grip will fit in there to keep it put.
Mower is about six years old by the way. It has no choke to fool with, just pull to start.
