PU vs QSUD?

It doesn't. One is a synthetic GTL base stock with very low NOAK and outstanding cleaning abilities, the other is primarily GP III with higher NOAK, just run of the mill stuff like PP or the others (not that there is anything wrong with them, they are all decent).
PU is Shell's premium product for the US Market.

Thanks for the explanation, I'm running PU now and love it.

I heard QSUD was made by Shell as well but I'll be sticking to PU.

PU is one of the best over the shelf synthetic oil, it's equivalent to M1 EP. The problem is not many local auto parts chains have it, only Pep Boys in So Cal has it at $9.xx/qt, Amazon has it at around $5x.xx for 6-qt case.

my autozone ans walmarts carry PU. ijn fact last month..i got 24 bottles of 5w and 10w30 PU, for $3 each;) i left all but 3 bottles on the shelf;) $55 got 24 quarts~!

It sure is. Quaker State and Pennzoil are both owned by Shell.
Quote:
Pennzoil was headquartered in Pennzoil Place in Downtown Houston during the 1970s.[3] In 1998, the company merged with onetime rival Quaker State to form Pennzoil-Quaker State. In 2002, the Royal Dutch/Shell Group purchased Pennzoil-Quaker State to form SOPUS—Shell Oil Products US.

They're both good products. QSUD is dexos1 approved for those who need that, whereas PU is not.
