Nice report.
Patman, one question - you list your oil capacity as 7.5 quarts. Shouldn't that be 6.5 quarts ? Or do you always keep an extra quart in your engine?

That is correct, I've always overfilled my engine, and 7.5 quarts works perfectly when I buy oil in 5 quart jugs as I can get exactly 2 oil changes out of three jugs. And it makes things easier as I don't bother topping up between intervals, since I know that by the end of the interval it's still close to the original specified capacity of the engine anyhow.

That is correct, I've always overfilled my engine, and 7.5 quarts works perfectly when I buy oil in 5 quart jugs as I can get exactly 2 oil changes out of three jugs. And it makes things easier as I don't bother topping up between intervals, since I know that by the end of the interval it's still close to the original specified capacity of the engine anyhow.

Not a thing wrong with a over fill many members here do with no issues what so ever,usually the pan is designed for it anyway,is it for everyone? probably not but some can get away with it.

Many engines can tolerate up to 1/2 to 1 quart over-filled, but my E430 did not like any over-filled at all. One time I added 8 oz VSOT to 8.5 quarts sump, the on-board computer displayed "Overfilled - Remove Excessive Oil" when I do the oil level check. I checked the dipstick and the oil level was about 1mm above the full mark. After that I only use 8 qts oil plus 8 oz VSOT to keep the on-board computer happy.

My owner's manual even says that it's safe to overfill the engine by one quart if racing the car, so I see no reason why I can't continue to run that extra quart on the street. I've owned the car over six years now and have overfilled it the entire time with no problems at all.
As far as not checking the dipstick, that's because I have found it's ridiculously inaccurate on my car. For the first couple of years I owned my car I never thought it burned oil because the dipstick still showed full at the end of the interval, but then when I started measuring how much oil came out, it was a quart low. So from now on I do not trust the dipstick reading, so there is no point in checking it.
