This Purolator synthetic was on a 2012 Didge Caliber with 4 cylinder engine. Had 2 runs of Quaker State Conventional 5w30 put in and on by me. Lots of miles my friend puts on. Put another load of Quaker State Conventional 5w30 and tough guard. The slices in ADBV I have no idea what caused them. Made May 8th, 2014 1st shift and Line "D"

The media looks good for a change because the media in some of them were less than stellar. Do the cuts on the ADBV match the base plate openings?

Thanks for the C&P.

I must say that filter looks pretty darn good for the mileage... and overall just good in general.

.. with the exception of the cuts in the adbv, but honestly for 11,000 miles, I'd say those aren't completely unexpected.

Thanks for the C&P

No problem. Were the cuts all the way through the ADBV or only partially?

Just as is expected from Tearolator back in the days they pumped out junk right and left. Is it Cutolator now?

You may want to get your glasses checked or else raise your standards even just a little. Hopefully you expect a lot more than the this junk.

LoL ... needs to take off the "Purofanboy" glasses, that would indeed improve the eyesight.

car51 - Thanks for the cut and post. Potentially, the silicone ADBV is foiled by sharp inlet holes. Otherwise, looks great. The synthetic filter was supposed to be a good filter. My Purolator faith-o-meter flickered for a millisecond.

So, in effect, there was no ADBV.

Disturbing effects on ADBV.

I'm currently running a PSL24651 with no issues such as startup rattle noted on my 5.7L Hemi Ram. So far so good for me.

Oh, not at all! There's absolutely nothing wrong with a Purolator, particularly if you don't mind your filter being in, essentially, constant bypass, due to torn media, or having an ADBV that's for cosmetic purposes only.

Why don't they bite the bullet and switch to nitrile? At least they'll save some money, and still have the charade of an ADBV. Or, yank the thing altogether, and really save the money.

When a Purolator looks good it's news. Purolator is a name associated with failed filters. The Pure 1 was a slap in the face of car owners who used them thinking they were getting a quality filter. Maybe the new ones are better but still Purolator took advantage of us by producing junk and thinking they wouldn't get caught.
