From left to right: holly, large camellia, smaller camellia. It's the time of the year that I don't look forward too, pruning. We have about 15 camellias on our property but I only prune / cut back about 6 or 7 of them annually. The larger one pictured was getting too tall to care for easily and was brushing up against the house. The smaller hasn't been producing many flowers so I figured a hard prune may help. This is the first time trying this, so I do hope they end up doing ok. We rely on these bushes to keep our living room cool in the summer so this one will be a HOT one.

Just showed up..nice...
Now get back to work 😀
Haha. Done for today! Three was enough, took about 3 hours. I have 5 more that need attention in addition to the flower bed. Soon enough I’ll be fertilizing the lawn and mowing once a week. I’ll miss winter!

Don't feel bad...I am with you.
Briars and grape vines all along the woods...tired of tearing my legs up when I mow...got about 300 yards worth..

Wow! That is frustrating. Our house sat vacant for 8 years before we moved in, so around the rear properly lines plenty of small oaks have grown up. Not the cleanest looking back yard I suppose but don’t have the money to have someone take them all out, or the time to do it myself. I just mow along the wooded area and hope it doesn’t creep in any further.
