Good Morning folks. Off a friends 19’ HEMI RAM 4WD reg cab truck. Had this filter he got off rock auto and some Valvoline Syn 5w30 in.

In/on: OG ULTRA I had lying around and some Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 he supplied.

Looks pretty good for a M+H filter. I would for sure run it. I see these all the time on RockAuto for a buck or two. If they had consistent quality, I’m all for it. Thanks!

There’s still a weird trend that I’ve noticed of the lower end filters from M+H being better built than the higher end ones. For example this filter vs WIX and the Purolator L and TL being better built than the PL, PBL, and LX. O’ the filter world we live in is a strange one, PGI all the way.

Thoughts on this one versus the Premium Guard?

You see some good ones then you take a chance and screw on this brand new one and who knows what happens.. maybe nothing.. or maybe some little thing

There are guys on this forum stating something to the effect regarding Purolator.. "well that one looks good so.... " " this new Gold seems to be good quality... " but they have no idea what they got on the one they screw on.

" No good. Glad I didn’t use. As found when opened, two pieces of glue waiting at the bypass. No date code filter. I was refunded the cost due to no date code defect. The substance around bypass is oil, and the whole filters reeks of chemicals. "
