PROTEC PXL 57045 CUT OPEN

Good Morning folks. Filter and safety Kleen 0w20 was off a 23’ Grand Wagoneer for unknown miles. . Doesn’t look terrible.

In/on: another PROTEC 57045 and Safety Kleen DEXOS 1 GEN 3 0w20 motor oil.

Junk bargain line designed for lube shops.

They are known for tearing and closed louvers. I would not put that on a customers vehicle.

Wix makes Auto Extra and Parts Master. They used to; now think it’s Premium Guard.

That is shame on those louvers. Bought a lot of Made in Mexico Pro-Tec filters in the early 2010's when WIX was their own thing before being bought by M&H. They were solid filters. About the only WIX or Pro-Tec filters I will buy now is if I know they are made in China.

Those Donaldson louvers put the other brands to shame. Outside of holes that is how it should look. The stamping seems to push the metal holes much further out rather than a simple perforation the other use. Thanks!
