I typically use PERMATEX Black RTV as it's what is readily available from where I shop.

Whatever the boss supplies, he's afterall also guaranteeing the work.

The Delco should not have been included in that test, it is anaerobic and will not seal anything if air is present, it is best for metal to metal parts and flanges where no gasket is used. When used correctly it is very good stuff.
