Call it NNJ
It is at Walmart, and apparently it goes into your gas!

How good is it, does it work, and should I spend the money?

The truck is cooling, about to get its exhaust manifold taken off, donut gasket put on, 3rd hole drilled/tapped, reinstalled. Will be ready at 6PM for a price of $125. Thursday is the last day we have to get it to Secaucus. Maybe tomorrow after work, s what I would prefer.. should change oil just prior to it (says it helps) and run this in there. Will have to look at directions.

When that guy got $100 for changing wiper blades, J-B Welding (? Could not verify, he probably did) and put back on vacuum ball and removed/replaced one spark plug, I knew drastic action was in order. Not going to him anymore. I thought he was better than that. I thought he was going to put a screw through there. He didn't. That wasn't funny. (And I paid the money because it was an agreement. I could have got away with $75 but I really, really thought he was going to get the screw in there.)

No way was I gonna take it up there with J-B weld. No.

I'd keep that money (did you say you have 300bux?) safe instead of throwing it casually into the money pit (in this case, your automobiles).

No use throwing precious cash flow into things that you don't need to begin with, IMHO.

Q.

It's a glorified fuel injection cleaner.
You're better off with REdline SI-1 or Gumout.

Plus, you're supposed to run that in 1 tank THEN go for smog.

Nice catch to it.

If it's "Guaranteed To Pass" and you fail do they give you your money back, no questions asked? Do you have to send them proof you failed emissions? Just wondering.............

It guaranteed to make you poorer and the rich genius who created it richer. That's a GUARANTEE!!

You will not have time.

1.) You must run an entire tank full with the product.
2.) Refill.
3.) Go take the test.

Reason I know, used it as a fuel system cleaner once when I did not know any better. No proof of it working or not. However I did receive feedback from the driver that fuel mileage improved. Who knows?

NO....snake oil .

Do you have an emission test coming up ?

Till just a couple years ago we had actual emission tests done here with a tailpipe probe , now they plug into the ALCL and let the computer tell what is going in with emissions and is a total screw up that is costing a lot of car owners grief and $$$ .

You can say that again! What a mess.

Get the truck tested before you worry too much about getting it through. If it passes as-is there's no problem. If it fails you've lost nothing.

If you want the real guarantee to pass... yes, that's also available but it doesn't come in a bottle.

I thought 1993 was too old (OBD1) for them to do that?

Yes, I am worried about the "hose on the exhaust" text.

Maybe just premium gasoline, nothing more, until the test? And run it hard?

I read you have to show it failed, then show you went to an "authorized emissions repair" shop, get bent over, THEN show you passed to prove that it failed to get reimbursed double. . So, sorta, technically, yes..

I wonder if using TC-W3 will help for pennies. Also make sure the motor is fully warmed up. Do a little ITU driving on the way to DEQ

Instead of throwing your money into this very high mileage and unreliable vehicle, it might be wise to make use of public transportation until you can afford something better. I'm assuming there is decent bus or light rail service in densely populated New Jersey. I imagine you could get a bus pass at a reduced price based on your income level.

You are living with your parents, yes? Without any substantial living expenses, you should be able to improve your financial situation quickly enough, but only with better spending habits. I was on my own at 18, working two jobs for a total of 68-hour weeks and just barely making it on my own. My old Volvo 740 wasn't pretty, but she was plenty reliable. It cost me $2,500 in 2000, and I only upgraded after I had zero debt and some savings. The only debt I have now is my mortgage, and I pay 150% of the payment every month.

You'll only get yourself in a better spot through hard work and better financial decisions. You'll have to resist the urge to buy junk - both junk vehicles and junk at Wal-Mart.

I grew up in North Jersey. NJ Transit is quite extensive, reliable, and a good value...
