My friend that now lives hour north got a 19 Chevy Equinox FWD SUV. Was concerned on oil change history. So, me being odd, caring individual told him to grab a jobber filter and I’d supply the oil.

September 2022: I installed some HPL NO VII 5w20 and this filter. He didn’t drive it much since he carpools to work. Didn’t cut apart media, but judging by what’s in done end of can, some cleaning happened. Vehicle has almost 59,xxx on it too. Today I installed a ST white can filter and more HPL oil but their Premium 0w20 as he’s intrigued and bought case of it. Hopefully very soon I’ll cut the ST filter open. ST meaning Super Tech oil filter.

I’d like to say yeah, but googling some I have saw some that are ugly looking. I’d use one for say 3-4K tops
QC is spotty but this one worked well. It cleaned quite a bit from the no VI oil you added. I knew what you meant on ST being super tech. I know I've said this before but I always like when they put on the interchange filter information on the can.

I cut a Prime Guard 6607 that Meinke used on my daughters Mazda for their $79.99 synthetic oil change (that came to nearly $100 with 'shop supplies', tax etc....imagine using a $2 filter on what's supposed to be a longer OCI with synthetic). I was impressed with the uniform straight pleats but the nitrile ADBV looked skimpy.

The POF6607 is likely the cheapest jobber filter there is (without shipping)-$1.99 at Rural King. Looks like it gets it done, but if I was paying $100 for a full syn oil change a LITTLE better one would be nice. Fortunately the “stash” solves that problem… Jiffy Lube did use an undersized 2222 sized Service Champ on the Transit in my sig, though.
