So my 08 CR-V EX-L is due for its 3 year brake fluid swap. I called the dealer near my work figuring I would drop it off in the morning and have a co worker pick me up and drive me to work. So I call and they say its $129. I say ok and schedule this service and the recall for the transmission software upgrade as well. I know I know dealer Nazis stay away and do it myself. But to be honest I'm not monkey-ing around under my car for this. I dont have the time nor desire.Anyways...
So I get to thinking, eh thats seems high priced.. So I call the dealer near my house. Didnt want to call there initially because it is less convenient going there because I would have to drop it off in the morning, borrow my wifes car for the day and leave her without a car while Im at work. So anyway they say the same brake fluid swap is $65! I'm like ok set me up with an appointment for this and the recall.
Why the big swing in pricing? I asked both dealers how they do it and it is the same process. They use a machine, which I assume is the pressure bleeder that attaches to the master cylinder.
What's good is now I can get my CR-V and my wife's CR-V done for the same price as one!
