Hi, I use one of those Prestone coolant testers and was wondering; Should the coolant be cool, warm or hot to test for the temperature protection.... or it dos'nt matter...thanks

It really does not matter, if it were me, I would check it cold.

It probably doesn't matter because they are inaccurate at any temperature.

At least mine was. I tested mine with some different coolant mixes at room temperature and it was just plain inaccurate. I threw it away.

Sorry I can't help you more. I bought a temperature compensating refractometer. It is awesome, but they are pricey.
