After waiting for several years, i still have not bought a new pressure washer. I want a triplex pump and a GX series engine.

For cleaning house siding and brick patios , how much pressure do you look for in a washer? I see washers from 3100 psi to 4000 psi. I assume thats pump pressure, but whats the pressure out of the gun? ( i know it depends on nozzle).

I have to pressure wash my brick patio every year, and it seems the 2700 psi unit( honda gx engine and a comet axd 2630 axial pump) i'm using does not have enough power, i end up using the 15 degree ( green) nozzle a good bit.

I'd like to have more pressure and use the wider nozzle to save time. Or will it make any real difference from a 2700 psi to 3400 to a 4000 psi unit?

Thanks.

Edit : I also use a long telescoping wand for my 2 story home with vinyl siding.

If you're doing a large expanse such as a patio or garage floor you might want to consider one of these.

Saves me a lot of time.

That's not a bad price for that power washer, just the engine new is worth close to $800 and a new high pressure pump is another $250-$300 and anothe $30-$80 for the frame and tires, not a bad price at all. It's better to have lot's of pressure than not have enough, thats why you can always regulate the pressure.

True, but i'm thinking with the higher pressure, i can use the 40 degree nozzle rather than the 25 degree, and get done faster on a lot of things.

With the triplex pump and the honda GX engine, this may be the last pressure washer i buy.

Will be the last one you own treat the pump well change pump oil regularly I use CAT pump oil only change oil yearly it probably be a machine I'd consider. I just make sure you have enough water supply to feed it I also on mine mounted oversized external water filter at the pump input.

I'm on a well, I did not think about not having enough water volume. I guess i'll time how long it takes to fill a 5 gallon bucket with water. If its a minute or less i should be ok. Thanks for the suggestion!!

For sure if on a well I'd be consernd about volume. I'd also be on a 3/4 hose with that pump
