A FEW YEARS BACK THERE WAS A DISCUSSION ABOUT ELECTRIC PRESSURE WASHERS. MANY SUGGESTED A SAMS CLUB / HOME DEPOT UNIT FOR AROUND $125. I'M JUST GETTING AROUND TO BUYING ONE AND WONDER IF IT IS STILL AVAILABLE, SAME PRICE, AND PURCHASERS STILL HAPPY WITH IT? I HAVE LOOKED ON MY PREVIOUS POSTINGS LIST AND CAN'T FIND. THANKS.

Before you buy a pressure washer, we need to know how often you will use it for and what you will being using it for.
I only needed an electric power washer for bbq cleaning, driveway cleaning etc. I picked up cheap 1400 psi one at Walart for $55 near fathers day (they lower the price around that time of the year in Canada).
Do you have any idea of how many PSI you need/want?

Ace has one on sale for $79 that I am considering for the car and some light cleaning like patio furniture and the sidewalk.

I have an electric one I bought on CL that is a Stanley. Hose reel on the top of the machine. I have seen other similar ones that have different brand names. I feels its just an easy to use pressure washer.
I have 3 other gas ones and one electric (and diesel) hot/cold. They have their uses also.
If its just something quick, I use the electric one.
Karcher makes them also but they seem to use proprietary fittings while no one else does. I avoid them only because of that.

This one also looks very nice, I think this might be the one I go with. It has a 3 year warranty and a 20' vs. 25' hose so I am thinking it might be well worth the extra cost. I like the form factor too.

I have a gas one that is really nice but really a pain to use. Thing is, I have a hard time compelling myself that I need one for anything really. Are they really that much better for cleaning cars, barbecues, etc?
Most of the electric, name brand types work pretty well. I would not expect it to last for more than a few years though. Most electrics seem to have corrosion and leakage after a few years.
I don't care for the gasoline ones though. While they are more powerful and generally last a decade or so, the noise they emit is annoying to myself....and my neighbors.
A have a fella two houses down that is using one today (gas). I WAS enjoying the birds and sounds of a beautiful sunny day....until he started that darn thing up.
The older I get....the less I can tolerate noise (even though my hearing loss continues...go figure).

A 1600 PSI electric will do lightly dirty vinyl siding and cars just fine. It will also take off obviously loose paint.
I would trust a HF pressure washer with a Chonda engine before something electric. They actually have a decent reputation too.
As far as the noise, its no worse than any other air cooled OPE engine. Be considerate and dont start it up until 10-11am and youll be good.

Thanks, people. I should have specified electric and around 1700 psi. Actually there was a good review on here about a Black Max 1700 psi at Sams club for $129 and sold elsewhere (Home Depot?) as a Ryobi for $159? IIRC. I was wondering if anyone on here had purchased one and liked it. Sams now have a new but similar model for same price. Anyway car wash, house wash, engine cleaning, all infrequently, are my projects. Yes, I was not thinking gas because of noise and letting it sit frequently between uses, hoping it will start.Thanks!
