I am planning to purchase the brake fluid reservoir cap adapters from Motive and hooking them up to my air compressor to do pressure bleeding.

Would anybody have any concerns with this method as opposed to buying the whole Motive unit?

How do you plan to re-fill brake fluid ?

I had Motive, it worked okay for the two fronts but didn't do well for 2 rears of my LS400 and E430. I then tried Mityvac and it worked well both fronts and rears. I sold Motive on Craigslist.

I use a motive, and 5 - 10 PSI is plenty...make certain your compressor regulator is dialed way, way back.

I'll just remove the adapter and fill as needed.

I have a Mityvac and could use it if I run into problems. My research indicates that pressure is the correct procedure on Mercedes in order to flush the ABS fluid.

I will start at 5psi and go up if needed. I don't plan to exceed 15psi.

I need to check on Mercedes though because a certain pressure is required for the ABS circuit.

I've decided to go with Power Probe adapters instead of Motive.

They have a knob to tighten the seal which I think will be safer on the reservoir.

One advantage of the air compressor will be adding a filter and moisture filter.

My main concern is whether pressurized air directly into the reservoir is a good idea vs the standard way of doing this which is the brake fluid is under pressure from the tank.

Pressure bleeder instructions all warn about keeping the fluid level high enough to prevent air going into the reservoir.

So any concerns on this front?
