Now that I am having to wear prescription glasses full-time, I am thinking of investing in a pair of prescription sunglasses.Local and a couple of internet sites have prices ranging $300-$400. Lenses needed are single vision Polarized Grey.

Has anyone used a reputable location that might be less expensive?

There are quite a few online lens retailers that sell lens/frame combos for about a quarter of that. It's hard to find reviews on the sites but the prices are so low (about $50 for lenses and frames last time I checked) it's almost worth it to try it out and see if you're happy with the quality.

You shouldn't have to spend that much. I just got mirrored sunglasses (they are not polarized) they are wonderful. Got UV protection. They were around $150. at Pearl. That was with the AARP discount

The actual cutting and such is all computerized. There's no real difference as long as they're not totally incompetent.

Find a place that has a very good return policy and strong customer service acumen -- they need to stand behind their work.

I just got a set of precription oakley sunglasses from Pearl Vision.

They were about $400, but they were made by Oakely with Oakley polarized amber lenses. I have another set of Ray-ban prescription sunglasses with the lenses that they made in house. They are very good as well. and were considerably cheaper.

I have a pair of prescription sunglasses from zennioptical.com. They were about 15 bucks. The frames have about the same quality as a 15 dollar pair of sunglasses. The lenses are great. They have polarized lenses, but i think they were around 60 bucks.
