Premium Guard Rebranding

interesting about #9. i will have to do a burn test on my Carquest Extended protection. looks a lot like nitrile to me.
Says HNBR (nitrile), then says Silicon?

Does no one check marketing stuff anymore?

The gasket on my Carquest Premium is red, so I would guess its silicon - but honestly I have never had a properly installed nitrile gasket leak so really isn't a big deal to me. ADBV in silicon is really a good idea however.

Where is the best place to buy these filters? I use a lotta Honda and Toyota sizes... Thanks in advance.
The technically cheapest place if you can add to an existing order or by in bulk is RA under the "other manufacturer premium" offering. For Toyota I got Pronto last time - which are good (PG build).

However for the "7317" / PG4612 size Honda Filter - which is the same as Nissan, they reserve the right to substitute the short can 2876 - and did for me. Probably fine but not to my liking. So I get those now from AAP in their carquest premium line - and use the 15% order online discount which they seem to always be running and there $8.50 each which seems reasonable to me - with free shipping over $35.

Just for the record and I think it is worth saying…

Federated Auto parts was the first company to sell Premium Guard oil filters in their stores…

I bought one and showed it in here back in 2017 if I am remembering right.

And that filter at that time was just $5.39 … The every day price for the high end PG filter at Federated Auto parts. Not too shabby…

PG4612 is there down size consolidation for the 7317/6607 size filters. RA still sells the full size PG4610/7317 size filters and is what I recently purchased for my Frontier.

I believe the 4610 is only available in the standard, not EX package. I did get a bunch of 4610 Ecogard's for like $2.50 each on Amazon a while back.

For the 4612EX I suspect its completely warehouse / time place dependent. I got the parts plus 2876. Next time I order I might get the proper size - or not. Per my picture above they list all both as alternates. I am unsure how you can ensure what your getting prior to order?
