Premium Guard Rebranding

I was on Premium Guard's website today and noticed all new branding across their product lines. They all look pretty slick if I do say so myself. They are also moving to an ultimate protection, extended protection, and optimal protection branding.

Who would have thought just 4-5 years ago that this company would have taken over with some of the highest quality, best value oil filters on the market. Not sure about their other filters, but I'm inclined to assume the same.

On that note, I ordered an "A-Premium" cabin air filter recently for around 12 bucks, and I was completely shocked how well it was built for the money. Even the packaging was impressive. I wonder if that's the same company?

It's been quite the ride with PGI. I have yet to see a low quality product, even with the lowest tier products.

I don't know about A-Premium, they may be PGI manufacturers and relabeled or perhaps not.

I find the best place is RockAuto. However, many auto parts stores carry PG made filters - NAPA Gold, Microgard Select, CQ Premium.

I’m hoping for very little. Even if it’s an extra 25-50 cents, they are still the best bang for the buck.

Only if you're willing to put a 25-micron filter on. YMMD but I would put that on my car.

Well good for them. Must be going all in on the US market. They know how to make a quality filter. Unlike some of the traditional US manufactured oil filters. Don't need no stinking oil filter with louvers.

Advance Auto has them under the CarQuest brand and Oriley's has them under Microgard Select. I bought 5 from Advance Auto and used the 20% off coupon.

Yeah, these are most interesting to me as well. We've seen some recent Car quest Extended 20k's posted that look great!

interesting about #9. i will have to do a burn test on my Carquest Extended protection. looks a lot like nitrile to me.

I think they slightly messed up on that #9 bullet actually being the soaked nitrile instead of the silicone.

They did get the bold part right with HNBR which is Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber

Not on an advertised mileage rating & construction. The EP is just coming out it seems. New filter on the block.

Carquest Premium is 99.5 @ 20u. Pretty hard to beat that these days.
