Hey this is my first off topic post so here goes
cool.gif
I am almost 26 and getting Prelex surgery on Thursday. Basically this is cataract surgery without a cataract. They are replacing my lens. My right eye has always been horrible to the point that there are not glasses or contacts powerful enough to get it above 20/200 best corrected. My eye is -18.5 diopters so Lasik and PRK were out of the question. What I want to know is has anyone had this done, is lens replacement a more natural looking view than glasses/contacts, when they say they are going to put me under IV sedation (twilight) does that mean I wont remember a thing, also how long does some, if any, discomfort last after the surgery?

I would think that the doctor doing the surgery would be able to answer most of those questions.
I used to work with a guy that had both eyes done. Didn't say much about it though. He had a second job making fireworks(large ones) so it must not have hindered details or fine work much.

My 2¢

wow, let us know how it goes. -18 is crazy!

A lot of anesthesia is meant to make you loopy and forget you were in pain ten seconds ago. Then when you're done the doctor says how was it and you say, not bad.

What kind of lens are you getting? Cadaver? Pig? Synthetic? I guess I have more questions than you!!!

Can not say much about P surgery, regular cataracts are 6 min per eye max, suture free, etc. They give you a tape/DVD with your surgery documented. Facial mole removal is the only simpler one.
Good luck!
