I spent New Years eve 2000 in San Francisco, the big Hype back then was Y2K and computers crashing and such rubbish. But I did wonder what the world might be like in Ten years time. Of course, I got it all wrong.
How do YOU think life will be in ten years?
PLEASE, try NOT to make this political!
I'm thinking Technologically/Socially.

Well, it wasn't rubbish. Carefully planning and mitigation @ my site were the reasons there were no issues.

I hoping for a return to sanity in the workplace....

Sometimes I wish industry hadn't done such a good job at making sure that Y2K DIDN't happen.

In my state, had there been nothing done, half of the power stations would have taken themselves out, and the others would have lost vital protection functions and failed to trip. There was another buffer full thing that would have messed up some HV circuit breakers a few years later too.

Old Navy will go bankrupt due to being too upscale

Dollar General tops WM in annual revenue.

Mr. Bill has brought his 15th final version of Windows to market. It will include Service Pack 995 in a separate DVD.

Fireworks are banned due to environmental and safety concerns and replaced with energy intensive laser/holographic light shows.

Genetic researchers ponder "down sized" humans to stretch energy and food stuffs. The Lilliputian Project is announced.

Cars won't have wheels anymore....uh,hang on,I think that might have been the prediction for the previous 6 decades.

I thought 2012 was the end of time. I guess we'll see. If this be the case I predict we'll be gone.

Free Linux software will have more market share than Windows. One of the big 3 will be sold to the Chinese. Home values will not recover. Several more financial companies will go bankrupt. There will be an NFL team in Canada (maybe Buffalo will move?). Gas will be $5/gallon (that one was easy). Social security will be overhauled and increase age to retirees to minimum age 75. Kmart/Sears will be out of business.

More species of plant and animal will continue to go extinct and the never ending debate of how many humans can or should inhabit the earth will continue.

There will be no 2020. 2012 will end it all just like Y2K ended it all.
