Same re-branded unit at northerntool is called the Powerhorse Inverter 3500.

Looks like a nice unit, but doesn't have the correct outlet for my transfer switch setup. There is a coupon active now lowering the price to $699, so I went ahead and bought one. It took all of ten minutes from opening the box to starting it up. It's hooked up to the house and running all of the backup circuits now in ECO mode. I've seen as much as 1200 VA load so far, but expect more as new loads are turned on. I will loop backand report at a later date after accumulating some break in hours.

Good to know. What oil are you using with it? I've started mine off with 10w-30 Mobil 1 High Mileage with a 3.5 HTHS.

I'm currently using 10w30 HDEO Delo synthetic blend xle. I picked up a bunch when it was $8 a gallon at WM last year.

What sort of climate are you operating in? It was 90 F when I started breaking this unit in, then a thunderstorm came by and we are down to 75. I need to be able to operate from 0-100 F on the same oil.

I've started it out on 10w-30 Mobil 1 High Mileage with 3.5 HTHS viscosity. I always have some on hand because my Volvo is a six quart change.

Thus far I have close to seven hours of shake down time on this generator in temperatures from 75 to 92 F. It has been very impressive. Much quieter than my open frame Champion 3500 Watt, and the power output is so clean that none of the UPS systems I have on the computers seem to protest. When using the Champion they would machine gun between line and battery backup because the power was so dirty.

Was your Champion 3500 an inverter generator?

No, it is this one: https://www.championpowerequipment.com/product/46597-3500-watt-generator/

I have decided to go with the Champion 3400 inverter.
Here are my reasons.

1: I own 2 other Champion generators and been happy with them, and with Champion customer service and part availability, also low part cost.
2: Champion 3 year warranty vs Harbor Freight 90 day warranty.
3: I like the folding handle and decent size wheels on the Champion.
These are excellent points and I look forward to your review of the Champion. Presently I am working on a solution to the folding handle and wheel problem, because there is no way to roll the Predator across the lawn. On the flip side, the Predator has a very useful digital display that shows output voltage, amps, and volt-amp load. I also like the electric start feature.

Mostly used for the camper. Probably 60-95 degrees to cover everything.

Yup - I'll be going there once the warranty is up. It's what I use in my traditional open frame Champion because this is my only type of OPE that could be called upon to run anywhere from zero to 100 degrees F.

Ran mine 70hrs straight a couple weekends ago, AC, Fridge, few other things, ran between 800-2000w the whole time. I was having issues with my power converter switching between AC and DC so I didn't even shutdown to refuel. Never missed a beat and I couldn't hear it in the camper with the air going, couldn't hear it from 40' away on the other side of the camper by the fire at any times either.

I've run mine up to 2780 Watts so far. This was with our dishwasher running in heated dry mode, along with several other active circuits.

Yeah, they're a great unit for what they cost. Under load I think they're quieter than the Honda 2000 suitcases and the larger honda inverters. One guy had a 7000w inverter a dozen sites down and you could easily hear his when it was up and running.

Our Predator 3500 inverter runs our RV's 13,500 AC with no problems. After the next trip it will have almost 80 hours on it so far.

Do you take it with you on trips, in case of a power outage ?
