Thread 'Someone in my friend circle just sold their Tesla because of Musk'

Well, someone I know well finally did it. She sold her Tesla Model 3 and bought a used Mach-E just because of Elon Musk. Putting the title of her Facebook post here would violate forum rules so I won't do it. but assume it had something to do with the German government of the mid-late 1930s and early 1940s.

I can't say I really agree with her. She bought it used anyway from Carvana, so it's not like Tesla made any money off the transaction, and she doesn't use Superchargers, she charges at home only. I mean yeah I don't like Elon Musk either, but, you're always going to lose money...

This forum seems to always have been a lubrication and automotive forum. And while electric vehicles need some lubrication, they don't have much to do with the type of content this forum fosters.

Elon Musk has become a polarizing political figure, and this forum doesn't condone any political discussions. Getting involved into political discussions can drag down the forum's reputation. There are plenty of "sewers" where such content can be posted, including Twitter (now known as "X"). In fact, Twitter would be the best place for your friend to post their issues regarding Tesla, Musk, etc.

Without further elaborating on the matter, and in conclusion, I will say this: this type of threads should not only be locked down, but completely wiped out. There are X Y Z placed filled with political and derogatory content. I come here once in a while to relax.

Please keep BITOG clean of politics and nonsense.

I have had this happen. After contemplating it for a minute I realized that even though the base topic was not a problem, there was no way the thread could be discussed amicably.

I can see that with this topic also. I think the mod's do a excellent job - even when they admonish me. We all need some guidance occasionally.

Recognizing that there should be a way to address genuine grievances and concerns, BITOG has a formal process we ask you follow. Generally, if you have problem with another member, or Moderator, or how the site is governed, this would be the appropriate course to follow:

1) First, send a message to a disinterested-yet-trusted fellow member and ask if your perspective is valid or tainted; make sure you're seeing through clear eyes. There's nothing wrong with asking another member for a second opinion. If there is agreement in the merit of your concern, proceed to the next step.
