Hopefully your family will get a chance to meet the people that his organ donations have helped-it helps with the pain somewhat.

He was vacationing at Nags Head and walking from the family beach house to Kelly's restaurant just after dark. It was a taxi that had just left the restaurant that hit him. The driver didn't see him.
One of my cousins went to the hospital today. She said except for a cut on his knee you'd never know he'd been in an accident. It was all head trauma that killed him.

Being on a bike or just walking is very dangerous. Whenever I go for bike rides or walks I never take for granted that people see you. I'm amazed at how people don't pay attention.
I'm sure he is in a better place. I believe in that. Don't feel guilty about not attending the funeral. You can only do what you can do, but no more.
