All of these 10W-40s look pretty decent.
I'd have no problem using any of them, although there aren't really that many applications that call for a 10W-40 these days.
My thanks to PQIA for all of the VOAs they've published.
MAG1, if I remember correctly, used to (and perhaps still does) advertise in a lot of muscle car magazines. Their bottle even mentions ZDDP, but they have a Zinc level of 872 ppm? Come on boys, this is 10w-40, not a resource conserving grade.
Wow, PQIA is busy! I'd be interested to know how they will obtain the samples for bulk testing. Pose as a customer and ask if they could get a little sample to have it tested?

Yours allows it in high temps and in severe conditions.

Acutally, both Subies OMs recommend 10W-40 down to -4F.
For severe conditions, 20W-50 as well as straight thirties and forties are allowed for in the OMs.
Thanks for all the PQIA does, it is appreciated! I'd love to see you guys test some of the High Mileage oils, it's a very popular category that's been left alone up to this point.
