Powermore engines?

My Grandma has a powermore push mower that is on year 7, it still runs like new & gets the job done, it is reliable, it isn't nothing fancy, but for the price it was a good buy.

I did a generic google search for oil volume for Powermore engines and surprisingly was led to this good old Bobistheoilguy forum. The thread was initiated in 2013 and one of the comments was that Powermore engines haven’t been around long enough to make a comment on their reliability. Here we are in 2026, 13 years later. Any comments on the reliability of Powermore engines? While we’re at it does anyone know what the oil volume is of a 300 CC plus Powermore snowblower engine is? I need to change the oil in the snowblower for our community skating rink.

Yes, I know they are made in China and so is this IPad I am typing on. Thanks.

Update. The 357 Powermore takes a quart of oil. On our community rink, it’s a beast. Can’t comment on longevity as it’s only used 10 days per year.
I've had the 208cc snow engine and currently have the 357cc snow engine. No issues other than a leaky carb gasket on one. They start on the first pull without issue. Oil looks great every spring when I change it. My blower with the 357cc is a 2012 model year, so yeah I'd say reliability has been good. The 208 was on a 26" blower so it was definitely underpowered, but my current 30" pretty much never bogs.

The Powermore 357 is still in production as in this new Cub Cadet.

Donyboy73 (small engine mechanic on youtube) did a video about the most and least reliable engines he sees on snowblowers in his shop. Best engines (tie) were Honda and Yamaha...right behind was Powermore. He never sees them blown up or failed other than from user error.

Posting number #26 mentions Yamaha snowblowers. I have seen plenty of Honda snow blowers up here but never a Yamaha. Here’s a pick from Yamaha. Mods, I did a screen shot to show what they look like. Apparently tracks are standard on Yamahas.

interesting that you don't see Yamaha blowers...Donyboy is Canadian, too. I've never seen a Yamaha blower here in the states but assumed they must be more common in Canada?

I just stumbled across this thread in a Microsoft Bing Powermore search while checking out the Cub Cadet XT-1 (42" deck) lawn tractors. I can buy one through AAFES at the Home Depot for $2,159.10 w/o sales tax. I was just looking for a nicer mower w/hydrostatic transmission. My MTD Troy Bilt Pony 17.5 Briggs is still running well (two issues: had to rebuild crappy Nikki carb and replace the camshaft for a broken decompressor lever). I have an MTD Craftsman roto tiller with what I believe to be a 208 Powermore and I haven't had any issues at all with it over at least the 10 + years I've owned it. It's been the one of best small engines I ever had. I was upset when I first bought the tiller because I thought they all used Briggs & Stratton and I didn't realize until I had already used it but this tiller hasn't let me down yet.
